Geothermal
"Econar" Geothermal systems (ground source heat pumps - GSHPs) are also safe and sensitive to the environment. GSHPs use the earth as a heat source in the winter and a heat sink in the summer. Using the earth's natural ground temperatures, the heat pump, a device which moves heat from one place to another, transfers heat from the earth to the house in the winter and transfers heat from the house to the earth in the summer, thus creating a cool house in the summer and a heated house in the winter.
Geothermal systems use underground loops to transfer the heat. There is no external venting and there are no harmful fumes released into the atmosphere (zero emissions). Because of zero emissions, a chimney is not necessary for ventilation. Geothermal systems also help to minimize ozone layer destruction by using factory sealed refrigerant systems, which usually never have to be re-charged. Geothermal systems also save money, both in operating costs and maintenance costs. Investments can be regained in a short period of time. Since the energy savings usually exceeds payment on the system, there is a positive cash flow.
There are many environmental benefits from installing renewable energy systems besides being clean and efficient. Our renewable energy systems decrease greenhouse and acid rain gas emissions by reducing the amount of oil, coal and natural gas that is burned by electric utilities, thus contributing to improved air quality. Greenhouse gas emissions are the number one cause of global warming, which is causing both ends of the earth to melt at an alarming rate and has the potential to cause numerous problems around the globe |
